Vintner’s Festival June 5th – 6th at Poetic Cellars

Poetic Cellars will be open next weekend for Vintner’s Festival, June5th – 6th, noon – 5pm, and will be featuring wine pairings with the Pacific Cookie Company.  We’ll have samples of 8 varieties and 6-packs of each for sale. Be sure to check out some of their gift items  for your gift-giving needs.

The 8 varieties we’ll have at Poetic Cellars will be
Chocolate Chip – loaded with Guittard Chocolate
Oatmeal-Raisin – a strong cinnamon taste
Lemon Drop – a sugar cookie w/ lemon extract
Dr. Midnight – triple chocolate
Snickerdoodle – cinnamon and creme of tartar in a butter cookie
Peanut Butter – made w/ Skippy Peanut Butter
Cahootz! – macadamia nuts and pure white chocolate, light and sweet
Dark Chocolate Cranberry – dark Akoma chocolate from Guittard and dried, sweetened cranberries

About Pacific Cookie Company: Larry and Shelly Pearson opened the Pacific Cookie Company retail bakery in 1980 on the Pacific Garden Mall in Santa Cruz, California. Their dedication to top quality gourmet cookies, impeccable customer service and sparkling clean work and retail spaces brought the Pearson’s immediate success and a loyal cookie following. They expanded the business by delivering freshly baked cookies in many unique flavor combinations to retailers in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas.

The Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989 destroyed the company’s headquarters, the original retail store on the Pacific Garden Mall and damaged two other retails stores in Santa Cruz County. Larry and Shelly’s response was to open a large wholesale facility and expand the cookie business into foodservice distribution of frozen cookies and pre-portioned dough drops. Also, a key contract in 1990 with Alaska Airlines began a long relationship that enabled Pacific Cookie to survive and persevere despite the earthquake’s impact.
