Poetic Cellars sources fruit from the finest local vineyards here in the Santa Cruz Mountains, from a beautiful vineyard in Livermore and from old vines in the heart of the Redwood Valley.

2008 Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains – $40.00
This Pinot Noir is a perfect example of Santa Cruz Mountain Pinot Noir. It’s light crimson with subdued floral and pomegranate aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry fruit, spice, cola and soft oak.

2007 Chardonnay, Chestnut Hill Vineyard, Santa Cruz Mountains – $24.00
Filled with the charm of long sunlit days, and a kiss of sweet oak, this is a true Chardonnay lovers dream. Creamy in texture, bright with apricot, Seckel pears and pineapple, the acidity and minerality are mouthwatering.

2007 Late Harvest Viognier – $26.00
An exquisite dessert wine with inviting aromas of dried apricots, honey and bananas. On the palate, it’s ripe peaches, honey and pineapple. Perfect with Bananas Foster or soft cheeses.

2007 Ballad, Bordeaux Blend – $34.00
Equal parts of Cabernet and Merlot, with a 10% fulcrum factor of Cabernet Franc, make this a perfect balance of power. Low in alcohol, this restrained, elegant wine has lovely notes of lavender, dark cassis, caraway and tarragon, layered with cured Westphalian ham and spicy green olives.

2007 Mantra, Blend – $34.00
This delicious blend of 45% Mourvedre, 45% Syrah and 10% Sangiovese is a smooth, multi-layered experience of pure pleasure, balancing the racy, wild red fruits of the Mourvedre with the depth and richness of the Syrah. Spritely Sangiovese adds charming cherries and buttery smooth tannins to create a Mantra worth repeating over and over. This may become your favorite wine ever.

2006 Syrah – $28.00
Sweet rich aromas of baked plum tart, spicy sausage, ham and baked brie combine with wonderful flavors of plum tart, baked chile peppers, and sundried tomatoes.

2006 Petite Sirah – $29.00
Big, full-bodied and intensely flavored with chocolate, dusty blackberries, blueberries and baking spices. The ultimate baked berry pie. This is the essence and epitome of finely made Petite Sirah.

2006 Mourvedre, Livermore Valley – $28.00
Smoky, earthy and gamey with rich aromas of warm clay and berry bushes. Flavors are clean and deft: a lovely pas de deux of cherries and cherry tomatoes, of elderberries and chives. This is truly Katy’s signature wine. You have never tasted anything like it!

2005 Petite Sirah – $26.00
Big, full-bodied, intensely flavored with chocolate, dusty blackberries and leather notes.

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley – $34.00
Beautifully balanced, with classic Livermore Cab flavors, including cassis, coffee, dried cherries, blackberry brandy, truffles and baked plum. SILVER medalist at 2008 SF Chronicle.

2003 Reserve Port – $34.00
Sweet vivid flavors of blackberry, raspberry, raisins and ripe mission figs lead to a spicy finish in this blend of 50% Touriga and 50% Sousao. Intensely fruit-laden and delightful.
